Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony is undoubtedly one of the most popular works of classical music. Experiencing this masterpiece with a solo ensemble will reveal to the listener numerous new facets that are hardly perceptible in the sonority of a large ensemble. After the end of the Napoleonic era, Beethoven built a monument to the values of equality and brotherhood among people that is still valid today with his last symphony, premiered in Vienna's Kärntnertortheater in 1824.
